Michael Collins
Michael is the Managing Director of Talent Solutions and has overall responsibility for the delivery of our range of consulting and management development solutions.Prior to launching Talent Solutions in 2002 Michael held a range of executive leadership roles in Australia and overseas. In 1988 he was awarded the Sword of Honour as a commissioned officer in the Australian Defence Force and served in numerous units, including the elite parachute regiment, until 1998. His commercial experience includes executive roles in banking and insurance, consumer products and management consulting.
Michael is an experienced practitioner with a strong track record of delivering business results. As a line manager and through numerous consulting assignments he has developed a deep understanding of a range of industries including banking and finance, insurance, pharmaceutical, mining, engineering, energy, manufacturing, airlines, rail, professional services, consumer products and government. He has designed and led the delivery of major transformation projects on both a national and international scale.
He is also an experienced facilitator who has worked with leaders and their teams at all levels. As an executive coach he has been highly successful in facilitating individual insight and behaviour change, often in challenging circumstances. Michael combines a pragmatic and engaging style with a strong theoretical understanding of individual, team and organisational theory.
In addition to Michael’s extensive experience he is also a Doctoral student at the Australian School of Business where he is contributing to the theory of neuroscience, personality and learning agility. Other academic achievements include a Bachelors degree in Communication and a Masters of Business Administration majoring in management development and organisational change.
Anthea Hickey
Anthea is one of the founding Directors of Talent Solutions and leads our executive assessment and coaching practice.Anthea began her career in clinical psychology over 20 years ago and went on to become a widely respected researcher in the fields of depression and anxiety. As a clinician she gained first hand experience in assessing and treating a wide range of issues that impact an individual’s effectiveness and quality of life.
Since 2002 Anthea has applied her clinical expertise to the needs of executives facing a range of challenges in the workplace. During this time she has consulted extensively across banking and finance, pharmaceutical, mining, engineering, manufacturing, recruitment, oil & gas, rail and government.
Anthea is in high demand as an executive coach. Her wide exposure to business issues and an in-depth understanding of individual and group behaviour makes her well placed to provide practical strategies for dealing with change, conflict and interpersonal effectiveness. Anthea’s insight and experience is highly valued by senior executives when making selection and promotion decisions.
Anthea’s ongoing research interests focus on personality and executive effectiveness. She holds a Bachelor of Psychology, a Masters of Science in Medicine and a Masters in Clinical Psychology. She is a member of the Australian Psychological Society and is a Registered Psychologist.
Jim Burke
Jim is a Principal Consultant at Talent Solutions and plays a lead role in delivering our range of consulting and management development solutions.He continues to build on a long and distinguished career across a diverse range of industries including professional services, automotive, manufacturing and energy. Prior to joining Talent Solutions he held senior executive roles both in Australia and regionally with a multinational consulting company.
Jim’s expertise is in the area of business strategy implementation and change management. He has successfully achieved measurable, bottom line results in the US, Australia and Asia Pacific and has consulted across manufacturing, financial services, energy, telecommunications, consumer product goods, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and government.
Jim is one of our most experienced consultants. He is an expert in many assessment and development instruments and uses these to coach and improve executive and team performance. He excels at designing and delivering executive and management development programs through customised behaviour modelling, 360-feedback, case studies and experiential exercises. He has a unique ability to build rapport and trust while providing frank feedback and advice at all levels within an organisation.
Jim’s academic achievements include a Bachelors of Arts and a Masters of Arts from Wayne State University, USA.
Suzanne Biollo
Suzanne is a Principal Consultant of Talent Solutions and as an experienced executive coach, consultant and facilitator, is one of our most multi-talented team members.Prior to joining Talent Solutions Suzanne held numerous executive roles in academia and corporate Australia. She held an academic position at the Graduate School of Business, University of Technology Sydney for over a decade as well as operational and management development roles in the banking and finance sectors.
Suzanne’s consulting experience is wide and varied. She has designed and implemented on-line employee opinion surveys, reviewed many business structures as well as designed, implemented and documented practical performance management tools with 360 feedback components.
In addition, Suzanne has led major change management assignments including the facilitation of workshops to support change and build the leadership skills of senior executives. She is an experienced executive coach and has provided leadership coaching for senior management team members.
Her area of speciality is in the design and facilitation of cross functional team workshops, with an emphasis on dealing with ‘difficult’ people and interpersonal skills for leaders. Suzanne has deep experience in assessment centre methodology where she has been a project manager, assessor, report writer, role-player, de-briefer and executive coach using a range of psychometric tools.
Suzanne has worked across many industries both in Australia and overseas including banking and finance, insurance, government, heavy manufacturing, aviation, retail, professional services, engineering, telecommunications, automotive, rail and Information Technology.
In addition to extensive industry experience Suzanne holds a Masters of Business Administration.
Nathan Taylor
Nathan is a Consultant with Talent Solutions Pty Ltd and is a key member of our executive assessment and coaching practice. He is also our practice leader in 360-degree assessment and feedback systems.Nathan began his career in workplace transition before moving into more mainstream organisational consulting. He has deep experience in a variety of industries including rail, insurance, banking and government. In addition, he is experienced at selecting, administering and interpreting a wide variety of personality and mental ability instruments.
As a registered psychologist Nathan has the qualifications and experience to help leaders and managers develop critical self-awareness and behaviour change. Many of Nathan’s executive coaching clients appreciate his ability to develop practical strategies that make a difference.
Nathan is also responsible for the project management of all major 360-degree feedback assignments. A recent leadership 360 for a large government agency, involving over 350 leaders and six feedback consultants, was delivered on time and budget as a result of Nathan’s expertise in project planning, management and client engagement.
Nathan’s academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours), Post-Graduate Diploma in Psychological Practice and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. He is currently completing a Masters of Organisational Psychology and is a Registered Psychologist. Nathan’s research interests include personality and early career turnover.
