Season’s Greetings!
As the year draws rapidly to an end,
the Talent Solutions team recently joined colleagues, business
partners and clients for wine and canapés at the Grace
Hotel in Sydney. This inaugural event recognised many of
the people who have helped make Talent Solutions a growing
success over the last five years. Thanks once again to all
who came along and made the evening so memorable.
Since the last edition of Potential we have been actively
involved in a variety of projects that have focused on identifying
and developing leadership talent. We have commenced work with
a number of new organisations and have expanded into the oil
and gas industry as well as achieved preferred supplier status
with a number of large Federal Government agencies including
the Australian Bureau of Statistics and the Department of Immigration
and Multicultural Affairs.
Our assessment practice continues to expand with major projects
in the resources sector including a talent assessment and profiling
initiative involving the top 100 executives of a publicly listed
company. This project involves a customised approach to leadership
assessment, focusing on a range of instruments that measure
both personality and key cognitive-like abilities that are
proven predictors of executive performance.
Leadership and team development solutions are increasingly
in demand as we help organisations in the energy, finance and
manufacturing industries align their leadership teams with
emerging business opportunities. We have also faced an increasing
uptake in solutions that up skill and re-equip the Human Resources
team to facilitate change in their respective organisations.
This is becoming increasingly important in both the finance
and resources sectors as global pressures create the need to
identify and adapt to new business challenges. In situations
like these, HR professionals are becoming increasingly involved
in strategic business partnering which often requires a major
change management capability.
On the Emotional Intelligence (EI)
front, this quarter has seen us working closely with the
finance team from one of the global leaders in the resources
sector. Our Intelligent Leadership™ program
has been helping managers in this department increase their
awareness and management of emotions. We also continue to measure
the adoption of EI abilities and facilitate skill-based workshops
for a leading pharmaceutical company with the view to publish
these research findings in the New Year. Preliminary analysis
suggests significant increases in EI, especially in the area
of emotional resilience and self-awareness, as a result of
our Intelligent Selling™ program.
The remainder of the year sees continuing work with a NSW
Government Department as we facilitate a series of workshops
for managers to increase their coaching, supervision and ethical
decision-making skills. In the New Year, an early project involves
designing and delivering a specifically tailored coaching program
aimed at developing a culture of communication and collaboration
within the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
We have also maintained an ongoing commitment to work with
various change management programs across both the financial
services and airline industries with an evolving focus on facilitated
business planning off-sites for executive management teams.
Our business continues to expand as
we close out 2006 with the prospect of new members joining
the team in 2007. It’s
been an exciting and busy year with our team looking forward
to a well earned break over the Christmas period. On that note,
we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your
support in 2006. We wish you happy holidays and look forward
to working with you in the New Year!
