The new financial year has been by no means a quiet period for Talent Solutions – we have a brand new member in our team and have been moving full steam ahead with new projects frequently emerging. We are continuing to work on several interesting projects with a NSW Government Department; we have recently facilitated various conferences for our clients in the financial services industry as well as for a major home loans provider and a recruitment firm.

We continue to work closely across both the Qantas and Jetstar businesses during their current climate of major change and are rolling out a range of programs to increase employee engagement and better equip senior leaders with the skills to manage significant organisational change.

Last month we undertook a pro bono presentation for the Western NSW Region Primary Principal’s Conference which encouraged school principals to ‘lead with Emotional Intelligence’. It is both interesting and pleasing to see that the phenomenon of Emotional Intelligence (EI) is continuing to gain momentum, as more and more people are realising the benefits of its application in a multitude of leadership scenarios.

We have seen a steady increase in our client requests for tools that allow both the application and measurement of EI in their business practices. We are currently working with a major pharmaceutical company to assess the of impact our Intelligent Selling workshop, which took place in February 2006, on its participants. We have previously seen a significant increase in levels of EI for participants in an earlier pilot program.

The last few months have also seen us working closely with a major oil and gas company in order to determine what steps need to be taken to ensure their Succession Management model follows best practice guidelines. We also continue to participate in speaking engagements and have recently delivered a presentation to the Australian Defence College on Intelligent Leadership.

It looks as if the second half of the year will indeed be a busy period for Talent Solutions!
