A new assessment and development tool
The focus of this
newsletter is on better understanding how we respond to
change and integral to this is gauging one's
ability to respond to uncertainty, ambiguity and conflict.
A recent development well suited to this task is the NEO-PDR
(Professional Development Report). This is one of the latest
tools for assessing how people work with each other and is
based on the most widely accepted measure of personality – the
'five factor' model (Costa and McRae). The tool is designed
for use in candidate assessment, induction, succession management,
leadership and team development. It provides valuable information
relating to an individual's problem-solving skills, planning,
organising and implementation skills, style of relating to
others and their personal style (ie. their expressiveness,
temperament, control of emotions and outlook on life). Many
of our clients have readily taken to the NEO-PDR since it
is quick to interpret, free from psychological jargon and
easily
understood by line managers. An added feature is a one to
two page summary of an individual's strengths and development
areas. Please contact us at team@talentsolutions.com.au if
you are interested in a complementary trial of this tool.
Leadership and people development
summit 2005
The speaking circuit
continues to attract a great deal of interest in change
and how people respond to this. Our MD will
be presenting two sessions at a Liquid Learning conference
in Canberra on the 17th and 18th of May. The conference:
'Public Sector Leadership & People Development Summit
2005' has attracted over 60 delegates and promises to bring
together
practitioners and experts from a wide range of public sector
organisations. The focus of Michael's first presentation
will be on our experiences in developing high performance
organisations. On the second day he will be talking about
our approach to
developing emotional intelligence and the work we have done
with a number of Australian companies in this area. For more
information on the conference visit the following website: www.liquidlearning.com.au
